Overview:

Dr. Sabir Cholas is an experienced and board-certified pulmonologist currently serving as Consultant in Pulmonology and Allergy at KIMS Sreechand Hospital, Kannur. With over 15 years of clinical practice in respiratory medicine, he specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of conditions, including asthma, COPD, obstructive sleep apnea, interstitial lung diseases, and respiratory infections. His diagnostic acumen is supported by expertise in interpreting advanced investigations such as chest CTs, PFTs, DLCO, bronchoscopies, and polysomnography.

He completed his MBBS from the Government Medical College under the University of Calicut and went on to earn his MD in Chest Diseases and Tuberculosis from the prestigious Grant Medical College & Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. In addition to being certified in Basic Life Support (AHA) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, Dr. Sabir brings substantial academic experience, having served as Professor in Pulmonology at Kannur Medical College and Assistant Professor at A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Sabir is also known for his procedural skills in flexible bronchoscopy, thoracocentesis, tube thoracostomy, and ventilator management. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he worked extensively in intensive care settings, managing critically ill respiratory patients. His key areas of interest include sleep disorders, interstitial lung disease, pleural interventions, difficult-to-treat asthma, and respiratory illnesses in immunosuppressed patients.

A passionate educator and contributor to scientific literature, Dr. Sabir has several publications in indexed journals and has actively participated in national and international conferences.
