Overview:

Dr. Karthik Harisankar is a skilled and dedicated Consultant Neurologist currently working at KIMS Sreechand Hospital, Kerala. He has a strong academic background, having completed his MBBS at JIPMER, Puducherry, followed by an MD in General Medicine from RIMS, Imphal, where he graduated with First Rank and a Gold Medal. He pursued his DM in Neurology at the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Dr. Karthik’s clinical interests include movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, stroke and neurorehabilitation. He has prior experience as a Consultant Neurologist at My Hospital (Indus network Hospital), Mohali, and has also worked as a senior resident with teaching responsibilities at PGIMER after completing the DM course.

He has represented India on global platforms, presenting research at the International Congress on Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders (Copenhagen, 2023) and has also attended the World Stroke Congress (Abu Dhabi, 2024). His research was recognised with the ‘Best Thesis in Clinical aspects category ‘ award by the Movement Disorder Society of India in 2023. He also contributed to global health outreach as part of the Rotary India Medical Mission to Mozambique rendering his services as a Neurologist in Mozambique (Africa).

Dr. Karthik is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Indian Academy of Neurology, the International Movement Disorder Society, and the World Stroke Association. His academic contributions include multiple research publications and book chapters in reputed neurology texts.
