Oncology Experience:

Clinical Experience in Oncology -

Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad

Duration: 3 Months ( june – September 2024 )

Worked in multidisciplinary approach along with the oncology experts as a part of KIMS advanced Gastroenterology Team, with focused work on Advanced Endoscopic Interventions in Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary oncology. Gained vast experience in the endoscopic diagnosis, staging, and palliation of GI malignancies including esophageal, gastric, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers. Participated in tumor board discussions and coordinated with oncology, radiology, and surgical teams for comprehensive cancer care.

Clinical Skills & Interests:

COMMON GI DISORDERS –

• Management of common GI disorders like Dyspepsia, GERD, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Constipation

ENDOSCOPY –

UGI Endoscopy:

• Diagnostic procedures, Stricture dilatation, Foreign body removal, Polypectomy, Endoscopic Mucosal Resection, PEG tube placement

Colonoscopy:

• Diagnostic/Screening procedures using NBI imaging, Polypectomy, Endoscopic Mucosal resections

ERCP:

• Proficient in CBD cannulation and biliary stenting (plastic & metal).
• Experienced in Pancreatic duct stenting for chronic pancreatitis.
• Skilled in SpyGlass-assisted interventions for large CBD stones and biliary strictures.

EUS

• Proficient in diagnostic EUS for pancreatic, biliary, mediastinal, and GI subepithelial lesions.
• Experienced in EUS-guided FNA/FNB for solid/cystic lesions.

Enteroscopy:

GI Bleed Management:

• Proficient in emergency UGI endoscopy and colonoscopy.
• Expertise in variceal ligation, sclerotherapy, APC, thermal coagulation, hemoclips, Hemospray.
• Managed obscure and tumor-related GI bleeds using endoscopic and radiologic tools.

HEPATOLOGY:

• Managed MASLD/MASH, ALD, autoimmune hepatitis, and cirrhosis (including ICU care).
